Bishop's Cleeve Primary Academy

Governance

Being part of The GLA Trust means that we are governed by the Trust Board. More information about the Trust Board, governance and details of the Trustees can be found here.

Each school in the Trust has its own Academy Improvement Board comprising the Headteacher, a member of the GLA Senior Executive Team, and a Trustee.  This group meets twice a year, following each assessment window. The meetings enable scrutiny and challenge across the school over school development priority areas and standards.

Community Committee and Champions:

We recognise the value of our Community Committee (CC) Champions as independent local voices with a passion to make a difference. To support these remits, Champions, with the exception of the Chair and Head Teacher, will take on roles in key areas such as safeguarding, enrichment, SEND and inclusion. The Champions will bring capacity in their nominated area, working closely with the same Champions from other GLA schools, as well as linked to the Senior Executive and relevant people within the school and local community (Such as the PTA, pupil council, local councils, local charities etc.). There will be Trust training for Champions to support how they fulfil these roles.

The CC process is designed to enable local people to get involved in the life of the school and its standing in the community. It is also intended to be a sounding board to gauge opinions and ideas of parents, carers, pupils, staff and the community to help us work together, collaboratively. The CC Champions will not be required to engage directly with any OFSTED inspections as this is the role of Trustees only.

In addition to the Head Teacher, the composition of the CC within each school will be:

This would be a nominated partner of the CC who will advocate this voice of the children.
