Our hot meals are freshly prepared and cooked in our kitchen at BCPA by staff from Alliance in Partnership (AIP).
Separate dining halls provide a space for KS1 and KS2 children to enjoy healthy food with their friends.
Children in KS1 are entitled to a free hot dinner every day - they just need to let their teacher know on the day that they would like a hot dinner when the register is taken.
Meals for children in KS2 are charged at £2.30/day (from 14/9/20), payable via ParentPay only. A minimum payment of £6.60 is required. Hot lunches must be paid for in advance. Please make sure that you keep your ParentPay account in credit. If your account is £6.60 in debt (3 lunches) your child will no longer be allowed to have a hot dinner until payment is received. Under these circumstances you will need to bring a packed lunch in for them.
Children are asked each day at morning registration whether they would like a hot dinner, they do not need to be booked in advance. We operate a system of pre-ordered hot lunches. Each morning, when taking the register, the children will be asked which type of hot dinner they would like: a meat-based meal; a vegetarian meal or a jacket potato. Prior to collecting their meal in the hall, the children will be given a coloured token representing their meal choice to hand to the kitchen staff. This system guarantees children their choice of food and reduces food waste.
Alternatively, a healthy packed lunch can be bought in from home. We ask that children do not bring fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate to school. We are a healthy school and we promote a balanced diet for all of our pupils.
FREE SCHOOL MEALS
If you think your child may be eligible for free school meals (not the universal school meals that all KS1 children are entitled to) you can apply via the GCC website Parent Portal.
If your child has a food allergy or intolerance please let us know at the School Office where we will ask you to complete a Health Care Plan.
In addition to this, you will also need to contact our catering contractor AIP if you wish your child to have hot dinners and they need to follow a special diet. You can do this by calling 0121 420 3030 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also complete the allergen information form below and attach it to your email.
Please be aware that if you have notified us of a food allergy or intolerance but NOT contacted AIP to arrange for an allergy-free menu for your child, AIP will only be able to offer a plain jacket potato until they receive a completed form from you.
